Playing Casino Holdem Online

[top_list]

If you want to play casino holdem then you have two options; you can make the drive (or flight) to the casino or you can play from home on the internet.

Can you guess which option I prefer?

You guessed it. I prefer to play online and it’s not even close. Don’t believe me? Read my 7 reasons for playing casino holdem online and I’ll make a believer out of you.

7 Reasons Why You Should Play Casino Holdem Online

Reason #1: No Traveling Necessary

The closest casino to my house that would spread casino holdem games is about 2 hours away. And I be willing to bet that many of you reading this have it far worse than that.

It’s not that I dislike traveling or anything like that, but I don’t see the point in spending money for gas and food, not to mention my time, just to play for a couple of hours.

Instead, all you need to do is hop on to your computer whenever you like, login to your favorite casino and start playing. You don’t even have to get dressed. And you can drink as much as you want, knowing that in a worse case scenario you can pass out on your couch.

Reason #2 – Play Whenever You Want

Most of the larger brick and mortar casinos are open the majority of the day, although I’m guessing that smaller casinos or card rooms might not be.

But why worry about hours at all?

Playing casino holdem online means that you can play whenever you want. 12pm, 2am or 24hrs per day non-stop; it doesn’t matter.

What’s more is that playing online gives you the ability to stop and start however often you like. Unless you’re making an overnight (or longer) trip to a brick and mortar casino, it’d be difficult to stop playing with the intent of coming back later — where are you going to go? Not every casino has a buffet or show to keep you occupied.

Reason #3 – Avoid People

I’m not a huge people person, nor do I drink (much) or smoke (anymore). So the last thing I want to do is hang around people that do. I’m not saying they’re bad, but smokers smell (and make you smell too) and drunks are obnoxious, unless you’re drunk with them. And besides, casino holdem isn’t a community game — it’s you versus the dealer. So it’s not like you’re missing out on much by staying home and playing by yourself.

Reason #4 – Lower Limits

When’s the last time you saw a $3 table? Shy of a special occasion or hole-in-the-wall casino, probably a long time, right?

Right.

Every brick and mortar table game has a minimum of $5. So every completed hand of casino holdem will set you back $10.

Online casino holdem, however, has limits starting out at as little as $1, or $2 for every completed hand. That means your bankroll should last you twice as long. Additionally, you can play more frequently since you can hop online with $20 or $50 to play, as opposed to saving up $200, $300 or $500 to make the trip somewhere to play.

Reason #5 – Deposit Bonuses

I’ve never sat down at a table and hand the dealer $100, only to be given $200 or more in chips. It doesn’t happen, at least not often.

If you’re new to an online casino it’ll happen every time you make your first deposit. At least if you’re playing at a casino worth playing at.

Every worthwhile casino will give players a deposit bonus, which is usually a match on your deposit. The match varies, usually from 25 to 200 percent, up to $500, $1,000 or even $5,000 depending on the casino.

What’s more is that many online casinos offer you reload bonuses too. These are usually much smaller, but it’s free money to play with nonetheless.

If you ask me, it’s a great way to stretch your casino holdem bankroll.

Reason #6 – Play for Free

Don’t want to play for real money? Maybe you’re not comfortable gambling with real money, or you want to learn how to play casino holdem before you pull out your wallet.

I don’t blame you — not one bit.

But good luck getting away with that in a brick and mortar casino. In their eyes, if you sit down at a table and aren’t playing for money, you’re taking up space that could be occupied by someone who could be.

However, you can play for free as long as you’d like online. You’re not taking up any space, and online casinos have lower overhead compared to brick and mortar casinos, so it’s no problem. And besides, they figure that many players starting out with free games will eventually move to real money games anyway. So it’s sort of a loss leader, so to speak.

Reason #7 – Access the Entire Casino Quickly

Burnt out on casino holdem? Want the rush of a progressive jackpot, sports bet or hand of real Texas holdem?

You can do that in a brick and mortar casino. Only as long as you don’t mind 5, 10 or 15 minute walks to the games, though, not to mention having to wait in line or for other players to join before a game can start.

No thanks.

Playing casino holdem online gives you the ability to switch games at a moments notice. Want to play poker, caribbean stud or become a bingo master? No problem; just figure out what you want to play, find it and start playing. It’s as simple as that.
